I wanted to experiment with capturing a daydream in a different, almost surreal form. In this piece I wanted to depict the disjointed nature of the mind as you daydream. It shows a headless man suspended between two towering structures in the clouds. Looped into the piece is an abstract floating head that appears and fades in and out of view repeatedly, sort of resembling the fragmented way we experience daydreams.
Process:
I spent days playing around with Midjourney trying to find the right style and feel for this piece. I initially started exploring my black and white photography style but it just didnt feel right. I then took a step back and played around with my surrealistic poster style that I'm crafting.
Once I found the correct composition I took the piece to PIKALabs and converted the image to video. Once I had the right motion for the head and body I exported both videos, extracted each frame and upscaled. Once all my edits were made to the frames using photoshop I then stitched it all together with After Effects.
I then started generating some AI music to go along with it as well as finding the right tone for the head changing shape.
Overall I am really proud of this piece, it reflects a different side of my and I love how it turned out. Hope you like it :)
