Quenching These Fiery Thoughts

I’ve heard that water quenches fire but I still don’t know what quenches fiery thoughts.

I have seen firefighters put out infernos effortlessly but I still haven’t seen anybody smolder the flameless fire that burns inside the mind.

I’d call for help but who’s going to come running to my rescue if all they see is a miniature of falling ashes from all the frippery evidence of my scholastic nature.

They’d ask me why I still hold on to these burning pieces and I would tell them that I heard that there’s a flow of knowledge that washes over only those who read.

I’d ask them if they know what quenches fiery thoughts and they’d look at me as if I’m standing on the cutting edge of insanity but I’d take that as a No, Because these fiery thoughts are the very reason why they question my sanity.

So I’ll bury my head in the dissonance of these burning pieces , maybe if I embrace the heat, the answers that I seek would find me worthy.

Like jigsaw puzzles, that answer is an ensemble of pragmatic claptrap, some things must come together to form an ounce of sense.

But I learned early in life that some things take time to form, so I’ll take my chance, put out the question to you and hope that you can help me find an answer — what really quenches fiery thoughts?
