2024 February #006. The world had said there were rules, unspoken laws that bound one to the ground, to the logical, the expected. But Mara was not one to tread such beaten paths. Her home, sparsely furnished with but a single chair and the shadows of her own making, was testament to that.

She found solace in the corners of rooms where light hardly reached and truths were elusive. It was in such a corner that she discovered the rift – an aperture that disrupted the very notion of up and down. Mara approached the anomaly with cold deliberation, the stark sunlight casting a geometric spotlight that seemed to invite her in.

Curiosity was her guide as she hoisted herself into the skewed threshold. Poised in the interstice, she looked back upon the room, now alien and distant. With the world inverted, she pondered: was she the one defying gravity, or had the world subtly shifted, leaving her as the sole bastion of what was ‘normal’?

This breach was no mere trick of the eye; it was a gateway to untold perspectives. As she hung there, suspended and serene, Mara understood the lure of the overlooked, the hidden wonders that existed in these interspaces where one could escape, even for a moment, the mundanity of the expected world below.
