Enigma

A rumble at the edge of the Ancients cave was growing, causing everything around the explorer's team, floor to ceiling - to vibrate. The environment around them starts a slow but steady shapeshifting, folding into itself and unfolding into new patterns and shapes.

Impossible shapes and formations kept vibrating and transforming as if the whole structure around them was trying to communicate to the explorers a certain concept which you could only grasp when absorbing it all in as a whole.

Was the massive structure around them alive and the formations and patterns are some kind of a communication effort?
