Tsunami

My interpretation of a tsunami wave, captured through the striking textures and colours of a salt lake. I enjoy hearing how different people interpret my drone photos. In this photo I see a wave crashing, while the textures in the red salt water could be lighting bolts. Similar to a stormy night over the sea.

When I came across this salt lake in South Australia I felt an instant connection. I’m a huge ocean lover and spend my time bouncing between the coast and outback towns to capture salt lakes. To find a salt lake that almost combines the two, while also featuring the deep reds I love to photograph and fallen tree debris was very special. I feel like this image is the ultimate representation of me.
