Observation
Some see the masks as a reflection of their thoughts and experiences, a symbol of individuality. Others just see a dollar sign. Instead of insight, they see income, hoarding masks like they’re stocks. What was meant to be personal becomes just another thing to sell.
Meanwhile, the ones who actually care keep creating, while the traders count their profits, never asking what the mask was supposed to mean in the first place.
Revision
Perhaps the meaning of the mask isn’t lost in selling, but in never caring to understand why it mattered in the first place.
