Since I started my art career I’ve been obsessed with how visual reality is formed. One of the factual things I have learned is that the eye has specialized cells that are stimulated by either red, green or blue wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum. Most of our screens play that game by activating tiny individual modules of these three colors plus black. The combination forms what we perceive as other colors; the eye and the brain do the magic. This piece is about one of my favorite combinations (RGB) and their physical implications with perception with some added (why not?) psychedelia.
The piece is made in After Effects using elements such as microscope photos I took in the past, analog painting scans and digital created graphics. In fact, the circle in the top-right of the piece is my eye being displayed on a phone screen and then captured on the microscope.
