Chromawing Etherealis, named from Greek 'chroma' (color) and Latin 'etherealis' (ethereal), is a bioluminescent butterfly with delicate wings spanning up to 10 cm featuring intricate leaf-like patterns in radiant blues, purples, amber, and gold. Its phosphorescent qualities are visible along wing edges and veins, emitting primarily in the 450-495 nm blue-green spectrum as gently flickering patches used for intraspecific communication and camouflage in tropical rainforest canopies. The slender body (0-2g) glows warm reddish, contrasting cooler wings. Adapted to 20-30°C, it inhabits high-canopy environments of the Chromaflorae Lepidoptera cluster, a rare protected group of about 20 mystical species, reflecting unique evolutionary interplay of luminescence and morphology.
