Phosfloralis Luminarae, named from Greek 'phos' (light) and Latin 'floralis' (flower), is a rare bioluminescent plant from the Aurelia Petalina cluster. It features cup-shaped flowers with translucent, petal-like tepals in pale yellow to soft blue hues, adorned with luminous speckles along venation. Flowers cluster radially, growing on plants 30-50 cm tall. Ovate leaves display reticulate venation with luminescent dots emitting 450-495 nm light, producing a cool glow. Slender stems support gentle swaying in its 20-30°C tropical rainforest canopy habitat. Weighing 15-50 g, its luciferin-luciferase bioluminescence occurs in petals and leaves to attract nocturnal pollinators like moths and beetles. Classified in a new family within Phosfloralis, this species enhances nocturnal pollination and forest biodiversity.
