Fluorescens Petalum, from Latin 'fluorescens' (glowing) and 'petalum' (petals), is a rare bioluminescent aquatic flora species in genus Illuminaetherea Petalens. It features broad, undulating petals with dual coloration: blue-green (470-530nm) and warm amber luminescence, with delicate veins and bioluminescent nodules indicating a glandular light-emission system. This low-stature plant (0-10 cm) has a flexible stem for aquatic undulation in abyssal ocean gardens, thriving at 0-10°C, anchored to substrates. It belongs to a 10-species Illuminaetherea cluster. Its luciferin-luciferase mechanism supports nocturnal glow to attract bioluminescent invertebrate pollinators. Threatened, it sustains abyssal biodiversity through light signaling and nutrition.
