Floralumina Translucens, named from Latin for flower and light, is a translucent bioluminescent plant with softly glowing, thin-textured flowers. Each bloom has five broad, slightly undulating petals arranged radially around a central disc, showing fine venation and bioluminescent glands along veins and edges. Pale blue-green petals emit warm yellow-orange light (470-530 nm) from clustered micro-glands and reproductive structures via luciferase activity. Slender, flexible stems support flowers that sway with air currents, enhancing luminescence. Native to tropical cloud forests at 15-25°C, it grows 20-50 cm tall and weighs 15-50g. Part of the Helios Petalate group with 10 species, it attracts nocturnal pollinators like moths and bats. Its rare, protected status highlights its ecological role in nocturnal biodiversity.
