Luminaria Translucens, from Latin 'lumen' (light) and 'translucens' (semi-transparent), is a rare bioluminescent aquatic flora species in the Corolla Ignis cluster. It features translucent corolla structures 5–30 cm tall, weighing 50–200 g, with membranous, undulating petals resembling flowing fabric. Vibrant orange bioluminescent glands glow cool blue to soft green (470–530 nm) on petals and reproductive organs, illuminating Abyssal Ocean Gardens at 0–10°C. Its undulating stems aid nutrient absorption and pollinator attraction. The genus is known for unique bioluminescent adaptations within a rare family of ~100 species. Flowers attract nocturnal deep-sea bioluminescent invertebrates, supporting abyssal ecosystems by providing habitat and food in nutrient-poor environments.
