Luminflora Aurelius, named for its golden light, is a rare bioluminescent species in the genus Luminflora, family Luminous Glacies. It features translucent, softly blue petals with golden-orange specks, undulated and ruffled to form multi-layered structures maximizing bioluminescence. The slender, flexible stem supports 15–30 cm clusters with loosely radial floral arrangements and visible petal veins that enhance its ethereal glow. Emitting blue-green light (450–495 nm) via dense photogenic cells in petal tissues, it inhabits cold ocean trenches (0–10°C). Weighing 10–25 g, it uses aquatic undulation for nutrient uptake and seed dispersion. It attracts nocturnal deep-sea pollinators through bioluminescent signals, aiding genetic diversity among its ten related species. Its rare, preserved status reflects its ecological uniqueness and vulnerability.
