Luminispectra Floraglacia, meaning 'flower of ice light,' is a rare bioluminescent fungus in the Luminispectra Chromagloria cluster. It features translucent, petal-like caps up to 15 cm tall, with orange-violet reticulate patterns and a pale crystalline blue stipe. Concealed gills under cap folds create a sleek floral look. Bioluminescence (450-495 nm) appears blue-green on cap margins and inner surfaces via a luciferin-luciferase system aiding spore dispersal. Endemic to cold (0-10°C) deep caves, it grows on decaying wood and organic detritus. Taxonomically in Agaricales, genus Luminispectra, family Chromagloriaceae, it plays a key decomposer role in subterranean ecosystems. One of ten cluster species, it is protected due to rarity and ecological importance.
