Luminifloris Nebulosa, named from Latin 'lumen' (light) and 'floris' (flower) with 'Nebulosa' referencing its misty appearance, is a bioluminescent ocean trench flora exhibiting a rosette inflorescence of large, semi-translucent pale blue petals with violet undertones and granular orange specks. Its central disc hosts clustered reproductive structures with bioluminescent granules. Leaves and stem have membranous texture with vein-like patterns channeling bioluminescence. Growing 15-30 cm tall and weighing 10-50 g, it inhabits deep trenches at 5-20°C in nutrient-rich, low-light conditions. Emitting 420–490 nm blue light via luciferin-luciferase in petal margins and reproductive parts, it attracts nocturnal aquatic pollinators. Taxonomically, it belongs to Illuminaetherea Petalens, closely related to nine species. Its rare protected status highlights its role in deep-sea pollination through adaptive light signaling.
