Phosphorlumina Floralescens, from Latin 'phosphor' (light bearer) and 'floralescens' (flowering), is a rare bioluminescent plant native to tropical rainforest canopies. It features translucent, radially symmetric petals with undulating margins, dotted with blue-green bioluminescent cells (450-495 nm). The floral core contains intricate pistil and stamen clusters, surrounded by luminous semi-transparent petals. Stems are slender and resilient, supporting 15-30 cm in height and 10-25 g biomass. Thriving at 15-25°C, it moves gently with air currents. Belonging to the Lunar Spectra cluster, family Phosphoraceae, genus Phosphorlumina, it includes 10 species with luciferin-luciferase based bioluminescence in epidermal and petal tissues. This facilitates nocturnal pollination by moths and beetles, supporting canopy biodiversity and ecological networks.
