Luminosa Spiralfungus, named for its glowing, spiraled fruiting body, is a rare bioluminescent fungus native to tropical rainforest canopies. It features a spiral cap with deeply ridged, undulating margins in bright yellow to orange hues, with occasional blue and white highlights. The short, robust stipe supports the irregular, funnel-shaped cap with a convoluted surface. Its hymenophore has labyrinthine ridges enhancing spore production. Emits bluish-green bioluminescence (450-495 nm) via a luciferin-luciferase system localized on the cap and ridges. Classified in Irido Myco, family Mycocaliciaceae, order Agaricales. It grows saprotrophically on decomposing wood in warm (15-25°C), humid tropical canopy environments, aiding nutrient cycling. Spores disperse aerially by wind. The dense mycelium breaks down lignocellulosic material, supporting forest ecosystem balance. It reaches 15 cm and weighs 15-50 g, showing unique arboreal adaptations.
