Luminiflora Aurorensis, named from Latin 'lumen' (light) and 'aurora' (dawn), is a bioluminescent flowering plant from the Petalum Glimmera cluster. It grows 30-50 cm tall, weighing 15-50 g, with ruffled, intricately veined petals showing neon blue margins and warm orange-red bases. Stamens cluster centrally, surrounded by glandular, petal-like structures. Its delicate, resilient stem undulates with air currents in the tropical rainforest canopy. Bioluminescence occurs at 450-495 nm via luciferin-luciferase in petal cells, enhanced by reflective granules, visible in low light. Prefers 20-30°C in moist, shaded canopy habitats, is near-threatened with 10 genus species, and belongs to a discrete family of bioluminescent plants. Pollination involves nocturnal moths and bats attracted by luminescence and stem movement.
