Luminosae Chromaglowia, named for its radiant and vividly glowing hues, is a bioluminescent fungus in the Irido Myco cluster (order Agaricales, family unknown). It features slender stems 10–25 cm tall supporting funnel-shaped caps with radiating gills emitting blue-green (450-495 nm) luminescence via a luciferin-luciferase system localized in gill and stipe tissues. Caps shift from violet-black margins to amber near gill edges. This phototropic fungus grows on decaying woody substrates high in tropical rainforest canopies (5–25°C), acting as a vital saprotrophic decomposer. Elevated gills aid wind spore dispersal, with mycelia colonizing arboreal debris, reflecting its ecological importance and evolutionary adaptation.
