Luminis Vibracolor, named for its vibrant, pulsating light, is a bioluminescent fungal species in Luminispectra Chromagloria (family Mycenaeaceae, order Agaricales). It features clustered 10-25 cm fruiting bodies with funnel-shaped caps showing magenta, violet, and orange hues, luminescent blue edges, and densely packed gills glowing warm orange with bright yellow spots. The robust stipe is mottled yellow with a velvety texture. Bioluminescence is localized in gills and cap edges, emitting 400-480 nm blue-green light via a luciferin-luciferase mechanism. Native to tropical forest floors, it decomposes leaf litter and woody debris at 10-25°C, playing a critical saprotrophic role in nutrient cycling and hosting symbiotic relationships. Spores disperse by wind from exposed gills, while mycelium infiltrates substrates. Vulnerable due to habitat loss.
