Luminiflora Celestialia, from Latin lumen (light) and flora (flower) with celestialia referring to its otherworldly glow, is a rare bioluminescent plant with translucent, undulating petals in pale azure to deep indigo. Vibrant orange pollen grains contrast the petals, surrounding central reproductive structures emitting warm orange light. Stems are semi-flexible, adapting to ocean trench currents. Blue-green bioluminescence (450–495 nm) is produced by luciferin-luciferase reactions in specialized epidermal cells, aiding visibility in 0–15°C, high-pressure, low-light deep-sea habitats at 20–40 cm height. It attracts nocturnal pollinators like bioluminescent crustaceans and cephalopods from the Illuminaetherea family, utilizing visual and water movement cues for pollination and genetic diversity in rare populations.
