Luminiflora Spectraglo, named from Latin ‘lumen’ (light), ‘flora’ (plant), ‘spectra’ (light spectrum), and ‘glo’ (glow), is a rare bioluminescent species in the Prismatica Lumina cluster. It features translucent, undulating petals in layered rosettes, with a pale violet to icy blue gradient and coral-red glandular dots as bioluminescent loci. The slender, resilient stem supports 10–30 cm clusters. Emitting 420–490 nm blue-green light via petal photoproteins, it glows softly, intensifying in cold (0–10°C) marine caves. Utilizing aquatic undulation, it aids nutrient uptake and pollinator attraction. Endemic to marine subterranean flora, one of five genus species, its luminescence attracts specialized cave arthropods for nocturnal cross-pollination, sustaining cave biodiversity and highlighting habitat protection importance.
