Luminomyceta Spectralius, named for its distinctive spectral bioluminescence, is a member of the Aetherium Arborescens cluster within Mycenaceae (Agaricales). It features a smooth, convex cap (10-25 cm) with a delicate blue hue and luminescent speckles. The cap underside has densely packed lamellae emitting pale yellow-green light (450-495 nm) via luciferin-luciferase reactions. The translucent stipe contains softly glowing bioluminescent granules. Saprotrophic on tropical forest floor decaying wood (10-20°C), it recycles nutrients through an extensive mycelial network in leaf litter and lignocellulosic substrates. Spores disperse by wind from elevated gills. Classified as vulnerable, it is vital for tropical fungal biodiversity and ecosystem health.
