Glowsilica Luminaris, named for its glassy translucent petals and luminous traits, is a rare bioluminescent plant of the Aurelia Petalina cluster. It features delicate, undulating petals with glandular cells enhancing light diffusion. The flower has multiple radial petals with clustered yellow anthers, supported by a slender stem up to 30cm tall, weighing 150-300g. Its bluish-green bioluminescence (470-530nm) arises from luciferin-luciferase in petal epidermal glandular spots, producing a pulsating glow. Native to shaded tropical forest floors at 15-25°C, it belongs to a bioluminescent genus of five species in the Aurelia family. Pollinated by nocturnal insects attracted to its light and fragrance, it supports rare pollinators and is conservation-protected due to its rarity and habitat sensitivity.
