Luminaria Florumagica, from Latin 'lumen' (light) and 'florumagica' (magical flower), is a bioluminescent fungus in the Galactic Mycelium cluster (Agaricales: Mycenaceae). It features funnel-shaped, translucent lavender-blue caps (10–25 cm) with cyan luminescent patches and densely packed adnate gills glowing orange-amber due to a unique luminescent matrix. Stout stipes have irregular luminescent speckles indicating luciferase activity. Bioluminescence peaks at 420–490 nm via a specialized luciferin-luciferase system, aiding nocturnal spore dispersal. Saprotrophic on tropical forest floor detritus (5–20°C), it recycles lignocellulosic substrates, enhancing nutrient cycling and soil health. Spores discharge forcibly for wind dispersal. Though rare, it is a stable species emphasizing tropical fungal biodiversity preservation.
