Gloriana Luminofera, named for its 'glorious' and 'light-bearing' traits, is a rare bioluminescent butterfly with wingspans up to 10 cm and body weight under 10 g. It features translucent wings with intricate veins and soft blue-violet gradients, accented by pink and orange bioluminescent highlights. Emitting a blue-green glow peaking at 420–490 nm from wing membranes and thorax, it has a slender body adapted for elegant fluttering. Native to tropical rainforest canopies at 20–30°C, it uses gentle flight patterns for navigation and intraspecies luminous signaling. Taxonomically, it belongs to the Fluorescentum Mystica cluster of ~500 bioluminescent Lepidoptera, exemplifying evolutionary specialization in light emission and canopy habitation.
