Luminis Florealis, from Latin 'luminis' (light) and 'florealis' (floral), is a rare bioluminescent flowering plant in the Nebulorb Gloriosa cluster (family Nebulorbaceae). It has delicate, translucent petals with wavy margins arranged spirally around a radiant central receptacle. Petals emit soft bluish luminescence (420-490 nm) contrasted by vivid orange-red anthers and pollen. Slender stems reach 10-25 cm, swaying gently in tropical rainforest canopy air currents. Bioluminescence, driven by a unique photoprotein in petals, attracts nocturnal pollinators like moths and bats. Leaves are narrow and smooth-edged, adapted to filtered light. Preferring shaded microclimates at 10-20°C, the 15-gram plant supports nocturnal pollination and ecosystem biodiversity.
