Luminoflora Prismatica, from Latin 'lumin' (light), 'flos' (flower), and 'prismatica' (multi-hued), is a rare bioluminescent flowering plant endemic to tropical rainforest understories. It grows 10–25 cm tall, with dense inflorescences of multi-layered, spirally arranged petals exhibiting a gradient of deep blues, greens, golds, and pinks, enhanced by iridescent droplets. Its slender, smooth stem supports the clustered floral head. It emits blue-green bioluminescence (450-495 nm) via luciferin-luciferase reactions on petal surfaces, activating at 15-30°C to attract nocturnal pollinators such as moths and bats. This species, in family Noctifloraceae and genus Luminoflora (10 species), is ecologically vital for understory biodiversity and nocturnal pollination, with a rare, protected status reflecting its tropical biome vulnerability.
