Luminosa Papilio, meaning 'shining butterfly,' is a species within the Aurorae Lepidoptera cluster. It has delicate, semi-translucent wings up to 10 cm wide, with faint vein patterns and tapered hindwings featuring subtle tails. Its wings show lavender to pinkish iridescence and emit a blue-green bioluminescent glow (450-495nm) along veins and margins. The slender body weighs 0-2 grams and has elongated antennae for navigation. Endemic to tropical caves with 15-25°C humidity, it uses bioluminescence for mating signals and predator deterrence. Among ten genus species, it is endangered due to habitat specialization and environmental threats.
