Luminiflorus Etherealis, named for its light-emitting floral form and ethereal glow, is a rare bioluminescent aquatic plant with translucent, ruffled petals in soft white to pale pink hues, arranged in layers around a luminous core with tiny orange pollen clusters. Growing 5–30 cm tall with slender stems and fine leaf extensions at the flower base, it emits blue-green bioluminescence (470–530 nm) via photoprotein complexes in epidermal cells, visible in low-light tropical shallow waters. Thriving at 15–25°C with gentle aquatic currents aiding nutrient uptake and pollination, it belongs to the Noctiflorae Phantasm cluster, a genus known for aquatic bioluminescence. Its nocturnal glowing flowers attract pollinators, enhancing cross-pollination and supporting habitat complexity and nutrient cycling in tropical marine ecosystems.
