Luminosa Florae Scintillans, from Latin for 'shining luminous flower,' is a bioluminescent plant in the family Glaciaceae and genus Luminosa, within the Luminous Glacies cluster. It features translucent, ruffled petals (10–25 cm tall, 15–50 g) with blue to violet hues and iridescent orange specks near intricately curled stamens. Emitting blue-green bioluminescence (420–490 nm) at petal margins and reproductive organs via luciferin-luciferase reactions, it adapts to cold (0–10ºC) abyssal waters of the Abyssal Ocean Gardens, anchored to rocky substrates. Vulnerable, it likely relies on nocturnal marine fauna for pollination through luminescent signaling, enhancing reproductive success and ecological roles in deep-sea communities.
