Noctiluca Petalensis, meaning 'night light of petals,' is a rare bioluminescent flowering plant endemic to tropical rainforest canopies. It features delicate, translucent petals with fine venation, forming radial symmetry around an elongated inflorescence densely packed with filamentous stamens. Its coloration shifts from soft pinks to luminous blues and purples, emitting blue-green light (420-490 nm) via a luciferin-luciferase pathway in petal cells. Thriving at 15-25°C, it grows 10-25 cm tall, weighing 15-50 g, with a flexible stem attracting nocturnal moth pollinators. Classified in the Nebulosa Botanica cluster, it adapts to low-light niches and plays a key role in canopy biodiversity and nocturnal ecosystem dynamics.
