Luminosa Lepidoptera, named for its radiant glow, is a bioluminescent moth with a wingspan up to 10 cm. Its translucent wings show intricate venation with iridescent hues from deep blue to soft orange. Forewings are elongated with faint orange-vein patterns; hindwings have scalloped margins emitting vibrant cyan bioluminescence (450-495 nm). The thorax and abdomen are streamlined and iridescent, supporting slender sensory antennae. Native to tropical rainforest understory (20-30°C), it exhibits energy-efficient rhythmic gliding flight in dense vegetation. Part of the rare Lumina Nocturna cluster, this lightweight (up to 10 g) species reflects unique evolutionary adaptation for nocturnal signaling and predator deterrence in low-light tropical microhabitats.
