Satoshi el Gigante

Satoshi el Gigante is a larger-than-life characterization of the anonymous figure behind the creation of bitcoin. It represents a global money revolution with reference to Mexican political history; a revolt of peasants against the landowners who monopolized the land and all its natural resources.

The image is based on an old propaganda poster of Emiliano Zapata, a leading figure in the Mexican revolution in the state of Morelos, and the inspiration of the Zapatismo movement.

Details include a customized Satoshi mask, developing global bitcoin network, collages of Mexican fiat currency, and flames to burn the fiat currency while bitcoin (representing the ultimate hard currency) remains unscathed.

Artwork was created as individual frames created in illustrator and compiled into a gif animation.
