This piece caught me by surprise with how seamlessly everything came together. Getting the core scene took months, but once I had the deep purples and golds, I knew I needed the right subject matter to bring it to life. I’m always drawn to surrealism, absurdity, and sci-fi, and Interstellar left a strong impression on me. The windmill-shaped keyboard you see is a model I made in Cinema 4D, inspired by the robot TARS from the film. There's a scene where TARS spins through water, and I instantly imagined a keyboard in that setting, so I brought it to life.
What really struck me was how the yellow keys almost appear to melt under the glow of the moonlight, with their reflection reaching toward the viewer. The combination of surrealism and sci-fi, with the purple blossoms against the yellow keys and flashes of turquoise and pink, creates this dreamlike, otherworldly scene, which feels dangerously inviting. A reward worthy of the risk.
