Scarecrow Crimson Firefly

Scarecrow is a terrestrial extremely cold planet in a huge solar system filled with twenty other planets orbiting Betelgeuse, the second-brightest star in the constellation of Orion. Scarecrow is about five times bigger than Earth and its gravity is about twice that of Earth.

This planet was considered to have no lifeforms on it but the conditions on Scarecrow are currently good enough to allow fast terraforming. The current conditions are far too extreme and cold for most lifeforms, but with the right technologies, life could be introduced.

Recent expeditions into Scarecrow's slightly warmer equator parts turned out into a celebration on the planet when the Crimson Firefly was discovered on many of what was thought to be non habitant islands.

The first expedition was met at night with swarms of millions of fireflies painting the environment in a magnificent light show all night long. Considered endangered specie, it is the only known evolved organism on the planet.
