ONIA #13 With tears in my eyes and the soundtrack of my adolescence in my ears, I recalled the bitter pain of my youth to create The Deep End, 2021. Think of this as artist ASMR. I went back into a memory with current-day context and let myself feel all of the pain from the past. Me and my 13 year old self were able to figure it out together and feel safe again. Recalling those feelings of pain, hurt, and sadness were not easy but it had to be done. There was a deep-seeded belief that I was not safe, I couldn't trust, and I needed others that I was able to begin healing from by revisiting this era of my life.
