Sasha Stiles
Sasha Stiles is a first-generation Kalmyk-American poet, language artist, and AI researcher based near New York City. Working at the intersection of text and technology, Stiles is known for her pioneering work in generative literature and blockchain poetics, exploring heritage and tradition through innovative examinations of creativity and consciousness in a machine age. Since 2018, she has collaborated with AI, including the creation of her hybrid collection Technelegy (2021), co-authored with an AI-powered text generator and praised by Ray Kurzweil. Her projects, such as “Cursive Binary” and “Repetae,” view poetry as both an art form and an ancient data system encoding human experience.
Stiles’ work has been recognized by the Prix Ars Electronica, Sigg Art Prize, Lumen Prize, Optimism AI Prize, and the Future.Art.Awards, and featured by institutions and publications like MoMA, Artforum, Christie’s, NPR, and Poets & Writers. Her art has been showcased at venues worldwide, including Lincoln Center, the V&A, Art Basel, Kunsthalle Zurich, and on Tokyo's Shibuya Crossing billboards.
A Harvard and Oxford graduate, Stiles is the co-founder of experimental literary collective theVERSEverse and a longtime poetry mentor to humanoid android BINA48. She also partners with select brands like Gucci and Bang & Olufsen, working alongside her husband and studio partner, Kris Bones.
