Rhea Myers

Rhea Myers is an artist, hacker and writer originally from the UK now based in British Columbia, Canada. Her work places technology and culture in mutual interrogation to produce new ways of seeing the world as it unfolds around us. Since 2014 that has meant using blockchain technology, starting with raw Bitcoin transactions, pre-NFT token systems, and smart contracts on the early Ethereum testnet. Always critically and technologically incisive, with evocative aesthetics drawn from recent art history, her art tracks the anxieties of emergent crypto-culture to reflect wider ideological shifts.

Rhea’s art has been exhibited globally and is in the collection of Buffalo AKG Art Museum. Her art and writing feature in almost every book on NFTs published to date, including Taschen’s “On NFTs” which it also graces the cover of. Her art has been sold at Sotheby’s, is held by leading collection DAOs, and is considered a grail by many collectors, establishing her as both an OG crypto artist and a crucial contemporary influencer where blockchain intersects with the artworld.
