Matto – Shinkai

Matto – Shinkai is a multidisciplinary Buddhist artist known for his 'Zenerative' series of projects, which feature Zen-inspired generative art released on Art Blocks and Plottables. He also releases experimental crypto-art through his smart contracts and his custom platform, Substratum.

Matto is focused on blending Zen philosophy with modern technology to create innovative generative art and experimental crypto-art. His work explores the intersection of spirituality and digital media, pushing the boundaries of how art can be created and experienced in the digital age.

Matto earned a BS in Applied Sciences and an MFA in Film and Animation from Rochester Institute of Technology. His experimental films have been showcased at over 75 film festivals and venues worldwide, earning more than a dozen awards. His interactive programming has been featured in galleries such as the George Eastman House, and his photography has been exhibited in both group and solo shows in New York and Washington, D.C.
